New Show Hosts: Cole Williams & Derrick Freeman

Derrick Freeman and Cole Williams

Derrick Freeman and Cole Williams.

We’re happy to introduce our new New Orleans Music Show hosts! Cole Williams is the new host of Tuesday's edition of the New Orleans Music Show, 11a-2p. In addition to her DJing skills, Cole fronts an African rock band. She joined WWOZ as a volunteer a few years ago and has been a steady presence at the station in a variety of facets ever since. Derrick Freeman is our new host of the Wednesday New Orleans Music Show, also 11a-2p. Derrick is also a talented musician - his resume includes twenty years of percussion for Kermit Ruffins & the BBQ Swingers along with a handful of other prominent New Orleans groups.

You have to love a recipe whose first two ingredients are a "couple of Louis Armstrong records" and an "ice chest full of beer." Kermit Ruffins' contribution to That Sounds Good: A Cookbook Celebrating 30 Years of WWOZ, this recipe offers a very New Orleans, barbecue-swingin' take on Thanksgiving's main course.
