Groovapedia

It's WWOZ's Groovapedia

Check out the beta version of a new feature we call Groovapedia: a collection of links and specialized search functions (a portal, if you will) that provides easy access to our ever-growing collections of video, audio, and music history content. Beware: it's kind of addicting and there are many (entertaining & engaging) rabbit holes to explore.

Scott Borne

Show Host Spotlight: Scott Borne

Scott Borne hosts WWOZ's Morning Set every Thursday from 6-9 am, a slot he's occupied since 2006, bringing adventurous and interesting new music to the Crescent City. He has also served on WWOZ's staff as Director of Music, working hard to develop our digital music database, and booking and producing broadcasts from many festivals. He also received the Jazzweek Jazz Programmer of the Year award in 2015. At the end of January, Scott stepped down as Director of Music, while continuing his weekly early morning air shift. What’s next for Scott? Could more music be involved in his future? Judging from Scott’s big smile and twinkling eyes, it’s safe to say "Oh, yes!" In next month's 'OZone, we'll put the spotlight on our new Music Director, Murf Reeves, who is also a volunteer show host.

Tasso Pasta

Tasso Pasta.

Recipe: Tasso Pasta

Tasso--cajun cured pork shoulder--has great flavor that works well with a rich sauce, as in this pasta recipe, which also includes tomatoes, cream, and Pecorino-Romano.
