I love my city! Born and raised here in New Orleans. Been here all my life. I’m actually just a few months older than 'OZ. We are both 1980 babies! Gotta Love It!

I got involved as a volunteer a few years ago but have listened for many more. Love DJ Action Jackson on Friday early mornings when I can’t sleep (ha!) Love Sally Young with Traditional Jazz on Thursday mornings, Love Maryse DeJean’s Jazz from the French Market on Monday afternoons, and LOVE Queen of the Rare Groove, Soul Sister with Soul Power on Saturday nights! I love that these volunteers share their love of music and their love of WWOZ with the world.

I really love the excitement of WWOZ Brass Pass holders when I hand them their passes for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival! Love to see the live streaming of the School Groove showcases that feature future musicians of New Orleans. It is so cool! These students get to perform LIVE in a real studio, for the world to see (THANKS TO YOU!!!)

As my grandmother used to say of our family, "we are a gumbo, made up of EVERYTHING!" I love that WWOZ is a reflection of the "GUMBO" culture that New Orleans represents.

And most of all…I love that YOU are a "Guardian of the Groove." Thank you for your continued support of this amazing radio station, WWOZ.

Love & Blessings,
