WWOZ Piano Night 2019

Piano Night, the flagship benefit for WWOZ, happens on April 29, the Monday night between Jazz Fest weekends. In addition to its usual stellar lineup showcasing the New Orleans Piano Tradition (Ellis Marsalis, Marcia Ball, Jon Cleary, Joe Krown, Tom McDermott and many more), Piano Night 2019 has a new feature: "The Byrd's Nest Lounge Patron Party," an intimate showcase and patron party in the House of Blues Foundation Room, named for the beneficiary of the very first Piano Night: Mr. Henry Byrd, AKA Professor Longhair.

Shrimp Étouffée

Recipe: Shrimp Étouffée

Here's a classic version of this Creole favorite, just in time for Lent. Similar to the crawfish variety, shrimp étouffée is generally lighter.
