We know plenty about the great musical artists of New Orleans through their music, but there's a lot more to them than that.

During Jazz Fest, we sat down with bassist extraordinaire George Porter, Jr. (The Meters, The Trio, and Runnin' Pardners) and tossed 20 rapid-fire questions at him in a new interview series we call "Yeah, You Right."

Q: Crystal or Louisiana Hot Sauce?
A: Crystal.

Q: Zapp’s or Tater Tots?
A: Zapp's.

Q: Mint Julep or Hurricane?
A: Well... 22 years ago, Hurricane.

Q: Beach or pool?
A: Pool.

A: Nightclub.

A: Wynton.

Q: Aretha or Mahalia?
A: Ouch. Mahalia.

Q: Samuel L. Jackson or Will Smith?
A: Samuel L.

Q: Lost or the Food Network?
A: Food Network.

Q: The Daily Show or CNN?
A: CNN.

Q: Facebook or MySpace?
A: Facebook.

Q: TV or radio?
A: TV.

Q: Books or magazines?
A: Magazines.

Q: SUV or Prius?
A: What's a Prius? SUV.

Q: 1970s or 80s?
A: 70s.

Q: NBA or NFL?
A: NFL.

Q: The Godfather or the Godfather of Soul?

Q: French Quarter or Uptown?
A: Uptown!

Here are the stinkin' opinions, according to this reader/listener...

Title (Yeah, You Right) - Cliche that everybody relates to, but one that is ALWAYS better when it's said than when it's written.

Question Topics - Gives a decent cross-section of logic that fills in many of the chosen interviewees proverbial blanks. But the "third degree"? Not even close to that claim...whoosh.

How It Hits - Comes across nicely, short and sweet.
