Early Mardi Gras morning, the 9th Ward Black Hatchets assembled at the house of Big Chief Dowee Robair where he leads them in the "Indian Red" prayer while introducing, one by one, several Queens (Big and Little), two Spy Boys, two Wild Men, and two Medicine Men. They then travel along St. Claude Ave. and over the bridge to eventually meet up in downtown wards with other tribes.
