Voodoo Experience 2010

The 12th annual Voodoo Music Experience was a wild weekend with perfect weather. WWOZ broadcast local favorites like Rebirth Brass Band, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Buckwheat Zydeco and Feufollet live from the WWOZ/SoCo stage, while huge stars like Ozzy Osbourne and MGMT mixed things up to make it another "experience" no one will forget.

Day 1 - October 29, 2010

On the first day, WWOZ broadcast Feufollet and Big Sam's Funky Nation live! Other other great acts we caught in action included the Honey Island Swamp Band featuring the Soul Rebels and Gal Holiday, as well as Eli "Paperboy" Reed and The True Loves, crooning away on the Sony stage.

Day 2 - October 30, 2010

Day Two brought three live broadcasts: Rebirth Brass Band; Basin Street Records Revue with Dr. Michael White, Jeremy Davenport, Kermit Ruffins & Jason Marsalis; and Buckwheat Zydeco. At the end of the night, Ozzy Osbourne rocked the crowd hard headlining on the Voodoo stage.

Day 3 - October 31, 2010

Happy Halloween! WWOZ show hosts Dean Ellis and Sam Cammarata were on hand broadcasting from Voodoo, with plenty of folks like trumpeter Antonio Gambrell, festival organizer Adam Shipley, and DJ T-Roy stopping by to chat live on air. DJ Soul Sister finished off the Voodoo Experience with her spectacular DJ set at the Preservation Hall Tent.
