The Jazz at the Rat concert series at Tulane presents guitarist Steve Masakowski, regarded as one of the top jazz artists of his hometown of New Orleans. In addition to having played guitar with most of the city’s greatest musicians, including Ellis Marsalis, Danny Barker, and James Black, he has been an active member of the award-winning Astral Project. He is currently on the faculty at the University of New Orleans, where he holds the position of Coca-Cola Endowed Chair of Jazz Studies. Students in Tulane's jazz studies program will also perform.
