Parade of Homes presented by HBA of Greater New Orleans

Saturday, July 11, 2020 - 1:00pm to Sunday, July 19, 2020 - 5:00pm
Parade of Homes presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans (HBAGNO) is the largest official showcase of the latest in home design in the Greater New Orleans area. It serves as the region’s best opportunity to tour new homes and see the latest innovations in building techniques and industry trends, such as home automation, outdoor living, and "Wellness Within Your Walls," a new solution to affordable and achievable healthier interior environments. One Parade home in Ashton Plantation in Luling will feature this new solution. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this year’s Parade of Homes is being presented both in-home and via 3D virtual tours. The Parade features a total of 25 homes. Twenty (20) of these amazing homes can be seen in-person by visiting them each Saturday and Sunday of the Parade from 1-5PM. All 25 of the Parade homes can be seen virtually, using Matterport’s innovative 3D virtual tour technology. To visit the Parade homes virtually, attendees are encouraged to download the free “New Orleans Parade of Homes” mobile app from the Apple Store or Google Play. The Matterport 3D virtual tour app is the newest tool in this year’s Parade of Homes toolbox. The app features a full list of Parade homes with locations; clear directions to each home; a range of prices to fit all budgets; builder contacts; sponsors; vendors; and the ability to virtually tour select homes via Matterport software which lets visitors do a full 360° tour of each room of a home. While visiting Parade homes in-person is a great way to see this year’s homes, seeing a variety of homes virtually could also help potential buyers in their decision making by creating a homebuying experience unlike any other. The Parade of Homes is ideal for inspiring ideas in those planning to build new or renovate an existing home. Spring and summer continue to be the most popular times for families to build or renovate a home. And, after weeks of stay-at-home restrictions, many people are likely ready to search for a new home that will offer style, comfort, and a sense of community. This year’s Parade features homes in neighborhoods across the greater metro area, including Lakeview, Metairie, Old Jefferson, the Westbank, Kenner, Harahan, Luling, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, and Belle Chasse. Attendees will see newly built energy-efficient homes featuring home automation, home theaters, outdoor kitchens, and the latest design trends, including new colors, natural materials, and new ways to create healthier interior environments. They can also receive expert advice from the area’s trusted builders, lenders, and real estate professionals. “This year’s in-home and 3D virtual Parade offers a variety of homes in neighborhoods that reflect the diverse tastes and budgets of all potential homebuyers in our community,” said Randy Noel, founder of Reve, Inc. and Chairman of the 2020 Parade of Homes presented by Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans. “We are proud to showcase the work of our innovative builders, subcontractors and vendors, all who are not only building homes, but building strong relationships throughout the communities in which they serve.” Included in the 2020 Parade of Homes is the St. Jude Dream Home®, a 2,800 sq. ft., 4-bedroom, 3 bathrooms house located at 6446 Pontchartrain Blvd. in Lakeview, which is being raffled off to support St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Built by Hyman L. Bartolo Jr. Contractors, LLC, and valued at approximately $700,000, tickets for the raffle can be purchased online for only $100. Parade of Homes is a proud supporter of the 2020 St. Jude Dream Home. To ensure visitor safety during in-home visits, builders will be following all CDC and governmental guidelines, and have agreed to supply masks, hand sanitizer and to frequently sanitize all high-touch surfaces throughout the day. A full list of homes and their locations can be found at www.hbagno.org/poh or at “New Orleans Parade of Homes” on the free mobile app. People choosing to visit homes can go to the Parade website for more information or pick up a copy of the print program from locations around town.
