Mary Kay comes from a royal heritage, the daughter of the first Queen to mask Indian, Queen Mercedes Stevenson.

A suit is part of a long tradition, passed down from one generation to the next.  "Every Queen has her own style.  Sewing a suit is abut design and style, because when you mask you're representing your community."

"A Queen's role is unique, it goes past Carnival, a Queen remains a Queen, each day all year long," and "she strives to take care and treat all people equally with grace and dignity."

Following in her mother's footsteps, "it's an honor to pass these unique traditions and culture down to the next generations."
