The Newcomb Music Department's concert band, symphony orchestra, and jazz ensembles frequently perform here, as well as classical piano and guitar concert series. Dixon Concert Hall is also home to the critically acclaimed Summer Lyric Theater and Friends of Music Concert Series.

This event is sponsored by Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church in collaboration with the Tulane School of Music and presenting the Manhattan Chamber Players in their New Orleans debut.
This collective of world-class musicians is committed to uplifting the human spirit with the healing message of music while promoting a love for classical music through interactive performances for all age-levels in a wide range of venues. While here, they will perform at a variety of schools, nursing homes, mission sites, followed by two recitals free and open to the public. The first will be at Tulane's Dixon Hall, Friday, August 19, 7 pm. The second will be at Rayne Methodist Church on Sunday, August 21, 5 pm
