The Bounce Music Fest highlights Black music and culture and connects people from various circles. Bounce music has become quite trendy, however, many of us New Orleanians are a part of a generation that doesn't remember a time where bounce music didn't exist. That makes it a culture and not a trend. If Jazz is the soul of New Orleans, then Bounce is the heart. As bounce music becomes more mainstream it's important that we recognize the people who created and innovated this style of music and why it was created.

The Bounce Music Fest will also include a brief panel on the Evolution of Bounce. We want to know how bounce artists have grown and evolved through their artistry. The discussion will also highlight the Ivory Coast & African dance roots of what we call "twerking".
