A three-day festival celebrating New Orleans culture.

Françoise et Tortillard: Recital works and arias by Edmond Dédé among others, performed by OperaCréole company singers.

Edmond Dédé is the first African American opera composer. Born in New Orleans as a free man in 1827, he became a conductor, and composer in Paris and Bordeaux, France.

OperaCréole is making sure his work is hidden no more. We will share his comedy sketch, operatic arias, and art songs. Our resident artists will also open the evening with some of your favorite standard operatic arias.
