Upcoming Shows

The Irish Cultural Museum will usher in the Celtic New Year with an evening of Irish music and merrymaking featuring Finvarra's Wren, a quartet that has been hailed as one of the most impressive Irish bands in America today.  The fundraising event for the St. Patrick’s Foundation will also celebrate All Hallow’s Eve with time-honored tales that surround the night of mischief on the Emerald Isle.

Finvarra's Wren is led by Detroit Irish music scene stalwarts Jim Perkins and Cheryl Burns, well known for their sensitive vocals and the inventive musical weaving of Jim's guitar and Cheryl's mountain dulcimer and bodhran. Powerhouse brother-sister duo Asher (button accordion and concertina) and Alison Perkins (vocals, fiddle and tin whistle) are world renowned for their award winning playing. Each member of the group has enjoyed successful careers as musical performers, teachers and recording artists.

The Detroit based band has performed at many of North America’s top music festivals and venues including the Austin Celtic Festival, Dayton Celtic Festival, the Kennedy Center, Goderich Ontario Celtic Festival, Saline Michigan Celtic Fest, Baltimore Irish Fest, Celtic Fest Mississippi, and Ann Arbor's prestigious Ark where the band recently recorded their live album, "Dancing Mad in the Midnight Air."
