The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center - New Orleans was designed to capitalize on the spiraling pace of the exposition market in the Crescent City, and in doing so, bolster the booming local tourism/hospitality industry. Its conceptual development began in 1978 when the New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority, the governing body of the proposed convention center, was formed to bring about construction of the facility.

Since opening in 1985, the Morial Convention Center has captured a sizable share of the convention market nationwide with its operations impacting every segment of the local hospitality/tourism market – including hotel bookings, dining, transportation, shopping, entertainment, local tours and cruises.

Employee engagement is tremendously important– yet it remains a challenge for many organizations. Employee engagement is like sending a man to the moon. There is a lot of work, involved, it takes time, and lots of people behind the scenes to be committed to the project and sometimes there is an explosion, but when we get it right - it is such a win! Organizations need to work past parties & potlucks to a deeper level - meaningful, growth, belonging, achievement and recognition. Join Darleen Lenyo as she explains how Crescent Bank is achieving this by hosting town hall meetings, chatting with the CEO videos where employees ask questions and gain valuable insights. Engagement begins in the orientation process connecting the employee’s work responsibility to the organization’s vision and goals for the year, creating a sense of community, and recognizing achievements. Darleen will explore ways to increase employee engagement using Gallup and other recent data to create strategy and execute an effective plan. In this engaging and interactive session, attendees will: Look for what data to analyze both externally and internally Learn who is more important to employee engagement success (it is not C Suite) Simple tools to create a winning strategy using OKR (objectives & key results) Determine what's important to track and highlight And most importantly, how to execute that strategy Free Parking & Dinner Included in the Registration Price! Darleen Lenyo: Her mother wanted her to be a teacher, but as a teenager she wanted to wear business suits and sign important business documents. Darleen found the best of both worlds (and was able to make her mother happy), when she discovered Talent Development in the finance industry as a profession. Starting her career as a teller in a local Seattle credit union, Darleen has 20+ years’ experience in employee development, helping 3 organizations develop training platforms from the ground up, and earlier this year, she spent two months in the Philippines implementing a workforce development program for off-shore account. She currently serves as the Vice President of Talent Development and Employee Engagement for a New Orleans based bank and is the upcoming President for the Association of Talent Development’s local New Orleans chapter. She has been a certified Disc trainer for 11 years, has a Six Sigma Green Belt certification, and has owned and run two different businesses
