The African American Leadership Project (AALP) will host its sixth annual Dr. Morris F. X. Jeff, Jr., Community Service Awards Luncheon on Saturday, August 20, 2016, 12:00 noon- 3:00 PM at Miracles, 3101 Bruxelles Street (directly behind Popeyes on Gentilly). The AALP will publish a Souvenir Booklet in honor of the 2016 recipients of the AALP Community Service Awards and we would be honored to have you and/ or your company‘s ad included in our Souvenir Booklet. Please consider placing an ad in one or more of the following categories: Camera ready ads may be purchased at the following rates: Outside Back Cover $1,500.00 (Reserved table of 8 and designation as Top Leader Sponsor) Inside Front Cover $1,000.00 (4 tickets and designation as Top Leader Sponsor) Full page $150.00 1/2 page $75.00 1/4 page $37.50 Ads may be related to your company, the honorees, AALP or messages to families who lost loved ones. About the Honorees This year, the AALP will honor four persons whose contributions and impacts on racial and social justice, culture and public policy issues have been extraordinary and exemplary. The recipients of this year’s Community Service Awards are: Bro. Walter Umrani (Peacekeepers), Rep. Joseph Bouie (HB 466-OPSB control reinstatement), Maroon Queen Cherice Harrison-Nelson (Mardi Gras Indian Culture Bearer and Educator) and Bill Quigley (Katrina Pain Index). About the AALP The African American Leadership Project (AALP) is a network of community, religious and business leaders, organizers, activists, educators, and citizens focused on advancing and protecting the interests of and empowering the Black community of New Orleans. It was formally founded in 2003 by Baba Mtangulizi Sanyika and five other Orleanians (Dr. Morris F. X. Jeff, Jr., Gail Glapion, Beverly McKenna, Edith Jones, and Takunah Taharkah).
