1) It's Jazz Fest time! WWOZ will be coming to you from the 49th annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for all 7 days of the fest! We've got sets from stages across the festival hitting our airwaves, plus interviews with Jazz Fest artists on-site. Listen in 11a-7p!

2) There's no other time for live music in New Orleans like Jazz Fest. Venues across the city are hosting fantastic shows all week long. Check out the WWOZ Livewire for the most up-to-date and complete live music calendar.

3) The 30th Annual WWOZ Piano Night is happening on Monday at House of Blues! As the city’s premier event celebrating the great pianists of New Orleans, this year’s Piano Night is dedicated to the memory and legacy of Fats Domino. Piano Night 2018 will feature some of the most notable and beloved pianists of our time, including Jon Cleary, Marcia Ball, Ellis Marsalis, Henry Gray, Davell Crawford, Tom McDermott, Joe Krown, Bob Seeley, David Torkanowsky, Al “Lil Fats” Jackson, and John Autin.

3) Festival International de Louisiane is also happening this weekend in Lafayette. This year's roster includes talent from more than 20 countries and regions, featuring local Louisiana artists alongside international musicians. This year's performers include Lost Bayou Ramblers, Samantha Fish, Geno Delafose & French Rockin' Boogie, Zachary Richard, Glen David Andrews, Feufollet, Niyaz, Lisa LeBlanc, Dominique Dupuis, Ladama, Sona Jobarteh, Terrance Simien, Marcia Ball, and much more. Check out the full lineup at the Festival International website.

4) Two programs of note from the Jazz & Heritage Foundation this week: Donald Harrison, Jr. will perform two free concerts at the Jazz & Heritage Center on Saturday night. The first show begins at 9:30p and the second show starts at 11:30p. And on Monday morning, Hezekiah Walker will headline the 29th Annual Johnny Jackson, Jr. Gospel Is Alive! concert at the Franklin Avenue Baptist Church. The Gospel Is Alive! concert is an outreach program for senior citizens in the New Orleans area. The celebration is named for the late Johnny Jackson, Jr., a longtime board member of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, who passed away in February. A tribute to him will be part of this year's event.

5) The NOLA Crawfish Festival is happening Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at Central City BBQ. Performers include Ivan Neville, Walter Wolfman Washington, Jon Cleary, Samantha Fish, Tab Benoit, and Honey Island Swamp Band.

Lagniappe: remember to support WWOZ, your community radio station, on GiveNOLA Day (Tuesday, May 1)! This day of community giving is a 24-hour, online giving event aims to inspire the community to contribute as many charitable dollars as possible to support the work of local nonprofit organizations. Last year's event raised nearly $4.9 million from 38,000+ donations across the nation.
