1) The world lost an incomparable performer this week as Fats Domino passed away at the age of 89. Throughout his career, Domino made twenty gold records, including 'Walking to New Orleans,' 'Blueberry Hill,' 'I’m in Love Again,' 'Blue Monday,' 'Ain’t That A Shame,' and 'I'm Walkin'.' He made the Billboard charts over 100 times, and sold over 65 million records worldwide. He will be greatly missed by the New Orleans community.

2) Big shoutout to all of our new and renewing members from the last 11 days! Y'all, along with all of our volunters, musicians, and food donors, made WWOZ's 2017 Don't Stop The Music Fall Membership Drive a success. Thank you! If you missed a performance or want to see it again, you can find it at our Recent Video Streams.

3) Happy Halloween! The big day is Tuesday, October 31 but there are plenty of spooky (and not so spooky) events going on this weekend. The French Market is hosting the Boo Carre Halloween and Harvest Festival on Saturday from 10a-4p with live music and kids activities. 6t'9 Social Aid & Pleasure Club will host their Tenth Ever Pumpkin Parade on Saturday from 6-9p. Jim Monaghan's 22nd Annual Halloween Parade will roll Tuesday from 6-9p, beginning and ending at Molly's.

4) Louisiana Seafood Festival hits Woldenberg Park Friday-Sunday. Tons of great seafood is on the menu and there will be live performances from Marc Broussard, Soul Rebels, Dumpstaphunk, Bonerama, Cyril Neville, and more.

5) Plenty of great shows happening around town this week! A few picks: Big Freedia & Peaches Record Store Bounce Night at One Eyed Jack's on Monday, Treme Brass Band and Morning 40 Federation at dba on Tuesday, Rebirth at the Maple Leaf on Tuesday, and Quintron & Miss Pussycat at One Eyed Jack's on Tuesday.
