This Friday, February 3rd from 6 to 9 a.m. during the Friday Morning Set and at The Jazz Crossroads we observe the birthday of (and I play a request from) a man who was a WWOZ show host for 24 years! You also can hear music from some recent local music award winners, and two featured CDs, one brand new and one CD by one of those award winners.  In the arts and entertainment segment at 8:00 Grace & I talk to a special guest who has the scoop on the NOMA Friday night event with Mardi Gras Indians and featuring a quartet led by trombonist Michael Watson, who is praised for his trombone work by his musicians and peers.  To find out more, join us!  The Brass Band Half Hour moves to 8:30 for one day only for a live performance by the Jack Brass Band all the way from Minneapolis, who will also be playing at d.b.a. on Friday night at 2 a.m. Tune in on Friday, February 3rd, 2012 to WWOZ-FM 90.7, www.wwoz.org, or use your app!
