5 things to know for 6/9 - 6/15

1) New Orleans Pride Festival, a weekend of events centered around the LGBT Community of New Orleans and its allies, happens June 9-11, with the Pride Parade at 7:30p on June 10 in the Marigny and French Quarter.

2)The 31st Annual French Market Creole Tomato Festival comes to the French Quarter June 10-11 with live music, cooking demonstrations and contests, the Creole Tomato Parade, local farmers' market and food and beverage booths, and lots more family-friendly fun.

3) WWOZ's DJ Soul Sister hits the stage at the House of Blues on Saturday, June 10 on a bill with the Hot 8 Brass Band and Keedy Black.

4) Students from the New Orleans Traditional Jazz Camp visit WWOZ for the next edition of Cutting Class on June 13 at NOON.

 

5) On Thurday, June 15, the Unholy Roller Revival kicks off Snake Oil Festival with performances that pay homage to and lampoon religious revivals that once traversed the American landscape entertaining people while simultaneously relieving them of their dollars.
