1) The Midcity Bayou Boogaloo returns to Bayou St. John this weekend. Scheduled performers include Jon Cleary, Zigaboo Modeliste, Tank & the Bangas, The Deslondes, and New Breed Brass Band. Check out the full lineup here.

2) Two second line parades will hit the streets on Sunday-- Divine Ladies roll out at 1p while Zulu will host their 108th annual second line starting at 1:30p. Both route sheets can be found at WWOZ's Takin' It To The Streets.

3) The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation announced the lineup for the 2017 Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival (June 24-25) earlier this week. This year the fest welcomes back two illustrious performers who haven't graced this particular stage in awhile: the legendary D.L. Menard with the Jambalaya Cajun Band and Grammy Award winner Chubby Carrier & the Bayou Swamp Band.

4) Tipitina's has restarted its Free Fridays concert series with another stellar lineup for the summer. This week will feature performances from Papa Mali and Colin Lake. All shows are free (21+ only) but make sure to spend freely, too, as proceeds from drink and merchandise sales go to benefit the Tipitina's Foundation.

5) WWOZ's Cuttin' Class got some love from WGNO's "News With A Twist" this week. Check out their feature on a recent appearance from the Dolores T. Aaron Academy Brass Band in New Orleans East.
