The nominations for the 2017 Grammy Awards are out and many Louisiana artists are up to receive big honors. Nominees with Louisiana ties include:

- Barry Ancelet & Sam Broussard: Best Regional Roots Music Album (Broken Promised Land)

- Lauren Daigle: Best Contemporary Christian Music Album

- Keith Hart: Grammy Music Educator Award for his work at KIPP Believe College Prep

- Vasti Jackson: Best Traditional Blues Album (The Soul of Jimmie Rodgers)

- Solange Knowles: Best Traditional R&B Performance ('Cranes in the Sky')

- Branford Marsalis: Best Jazz Vocal Album for The Branford Marsalis Quartet with special guest Kurt Elling (Upward Spiral)

- Kenny Neal: Best Contemporary Blues Album (Bloodline)

- Roddie Romero & the Hub City All Stars: Best American Roots Song ('Gulfstream'), Best Regional Roots Music Album (Gulfstream)

- Khris Royal as part of the horn section for Rebelution's Falling Into Place, up for Best Reggae Album

- Bobby Rush: Best Traditional Blues Album (Porcupine Meat)

- Various Artists: Best Regional Roots Music Album (I Wanna Sing Right: Rediscovering Lomax In the Evangeline Country)
