Jazz Fest 2008 - Louisiana Music Factory In-Store Performances

Published on: April 24th, 2008

Most CD stores that you go to, if you even go to one, are places where you buy music. Some have listening stations where you can listen before you buy. But there are very few, if any, like the Louisiana Music Factory that put on their own concert series and what they do during the Jazz and Heritage Festival. They turn the concept of an “In-Store Appearance” into a spectacular musical event. What that means is that everyone who is anyone is going to perform there for free sometime in the next two weeks. From a fan’s perspective, it’s much more up close and personal than you will ever get at the Fairgrounds.

Owner Barry Smith said: “This will be our 17th year of Jazz Fest in-stores. We are very excited and looking forward to the opening day of our concerts. We have been preparing for several months and hoping to have our best Jazz Fest ever. The volume and quality of local new releases for the fest is the strongest in many years and I feel our concert series is a great eclectic mix of New Orleans and Louisiana music. Thanks for your support.” Here’s a listing of the Louisiana Music Factory's in-store schedule.
