Bayou Manouche

Bayou Manouche is a New Orleans Gypsy Jazz band playing a range of up-tempo hot jazz, Bal-musettes (originally, a stylized French waltz) and lively swing instrumental and vocal standards. We are influenced by the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grappelli, who were creating a new and distinctive sound in Europe in the 1930’s. This music has remained fresh, alive, and relevant, and is experiencing a resurgence in popularity in New Orleans and around the world. Musicians include Adolph Lopez (guitar), Jesse Lamarca (guitar), Clare McKinley (violin), Victoria Budlong (bass), and occasional guest performers.
