New Orleans,
The Phunny Phorty Phellows costumed and masked krewe will assemble on Twelfth Night, January 6, 2016 at the Willow Street Car Barn at 6:30pm for a champagne toast. The Storyville Stompers Brass Band will be there entertaining us as well as ride to proclaim that merriment has begun. All are invited to come see the PPP off at 7pm sharp to "Herarld the Arrival of Carnival" as we ride down the St. Charles Avenue Streetcar Line. The Phellows are an historic Mardi Gras organization that first took to the streets 1878 through 1898. They were known for their satirical parades and today's krewe members' costumes often reflect topical themes. The group was revived in 1981.
