New Orleans Jazz Museum
Located at the foot of Esplanade Avenue, the New Orleans Jazz Museum, located in the Old U.S. Mint, is a national historic landmark that is part of the Louisiana State Museum system.

The Museum celebrates the history of jazz, in all its forms, through dynamic interactive exhibits, multigenerational educational programming, research facilities, and engaging musical performances. You can hear great music from some of New Orleans’ best contemporary artists in the state-of-the-art performance venue on the New Orleans Jazz Museum’s third floor. The Museum uses the space for evening programs, solo and small group concerts and special events while the New Orleans Jazz National Historic Park offers daily live music programs for local residents and visitors to the Museum. Upcoming Shows
Experience an Evening of Variations with an exciting mix of the finest local and national musical talents, New Orleans cuisine, an engaging Sound Collage lighting installation, and jazz history exhibits. The Improvisations Gala envelops an entire city block to celebrate our music and culture at the epicenter of music on the edge of the French Quarter.
The stellar line-up will include Irma Thomas, Galactic ft. Anjelika Jelly Joseph, Mahmoud Chouki, Aurora Nealand, Shake ‘em Up Jazz Band, Opera Creole with Trumpet Mafia, Tim Laughlin, the Detroit Brooks Quintet, Łukasz L.U.C Rostkowski, Victor Atkins, the Treme Lafitte Brass Band with N’Awlins D’Awlins Baby Dolls and Big Queen Mary K. Stevenson & the Original Wild Tchoupitoulas, and other local favorites performing on five stages throughout the evening. Entertainment is presented by the Jay Pritzker Foundation.
Patron Party | 7–8PM
Improvisations will kick off at 7:00 pm with an exclusive Patron Party, featuring cuisine, cocktails, and a private performance.
Gala General Admission | 8–11PM
General Admission for the Gala will begin at 8:00 pm. In addition to a brilliant celebration of the finest in local music, guests can walk amongst a dazzling showcase of illuminated installations, sculptures, and dance performances as part of The New Orleans Jazz Museum’s Sound Collage experience.
