Originally opening in 1914, Happyland Theater had been a thriving and important neighborhood cinema for over four decades when it closed in 1957. Since it's soft reopening in late 2015 it has hosted countless exhibitions, workshops, and events, and continues to be a hub for artists and art enthusiasts alike. Happyland Theater's mission is to provide New Orleans residents a unique and enlightening Sanctuary Space, for the Arts to flourish, while maintaining positive global engagement with all humankind.
