Located in Treme, the oldest surviving black community in the United States, the New Orleans African American Museum is dedicated to protecting, preserving, and promoting through education the history, art, and communities of African Americans in New Orleans and the African diaspora.

Prospect, New Orleans' contemporary art triennial exhibition, returns this year and for the first time at NOAAM! Prospect.5: "Yesterday we said tomorrow" will feature three internationally-known artists: Paul Stephen Benjamin, Dineo Seshee Bopape, and Kameelah Janan Rasheed. Explore art on our historical campus and new operating buildingfood trucks, and more.

This day of celebration will also feature a conversation between our Executive Director, Gia Hamilton, and P.5 Artistic Directors Naima J. Keith and Diana Nawi.
