Originally scheduled for Sunday, March 15, Uptown Super Sunday has been POSTPONED
Presented by the New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian Council and R.E.A.L.
Super Sunday is an annual gathering of Mardi Gras Indian Tribes celebrating their heritage and culture in a magnificent display of hand-sewn suits, singing, dancing and chanting. This year's festival will include two stages and more than 50 food and craft vendors. The festival is free and open to the public.
There are three Super Sunday Mardi Gras celebrations that happen each year. Super Sunday is an annual gathering of Mardi Gras Indian Tribes celebrating their heritage and culture in a magnificent display of hand-sewn suits, singing, dancing and chanting.
Uptown Super Sunday is the first of these celebrations. It will happen on Sunday, March 15 centered around A.L. Davis Park (Washington Ave. and LaSalle St.).
Featuring New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian tribes, along with special guests: Hot 8 Brass Band, Original Pinettes Brass Band, Stooges Brass Band, TBC Brass Band, DJ Captain Charles, DJ Jubilee, Young Men Olympians, Lady Buckjumpers, B.R.W. R&B Singing Group.
START A.L. Davis Park (Washington & LaSalle)
1pm Parade begins at A.L. Davis Park. Moving onto Simon Bolivar.
LEFT onto MLK Jr. Blvd.
LEFT onto Claiborne Ave.
LEFT onto Washington Ave. culminating at Washington & LaSalle at A.L. Davis Park with cutural activities and live musical performances.
