The Making of an Immersive Play: The Uninvited

Wednesday, March 11, 2020 - 5:30pm
Gallier Historic House
1132 Royal St
New Orleans, 70116
What does it take to put on an immersive play in a 19th-century historic house? Go behind the scenes of The Uninvited for exclusive look! Join members of Goat in the Road Productions (GRP) as they discuss their process of researching and producing The Uninvited, an immersive, theatrical experience now playing at Gallier Historic House. For over ten years, Goat in the Road has been making original, award-winning theater work in New Orleans. The ensemble-based company is committed to synthesizing current social issues through the lens of history, and works with a diverse group of artists to build new performances from the ground up. At this Gallier Gathering, a panel featuring representatives from both Goat in the Road and Hermann-Grima + Gallier Historic Houses will offer insight into the research process for historically-based work (The Uninvited, The Stranger Disease), this unique collaboration, and how GRP writes and creates their work.
