Vessels is a seven-woman harmonic meditation on the transcendental possibilities of song during the Middle Passage. This devised interdisciplinary ritual performance explores singing as a survival tool and delves into the question, "What does freedom sound like in a space of confinement?" We are half-way through the Vessels development process and look forward to sharing our work to date. We will present a 45-minute excerpt, which will be followed by intentional post-performance spaces that will support witnesses in processing what they've seen, heard, and felt. Tickets are available online and at the door for the same sliding scale $10-$20. Ticket sales will support artist fees for the ensemble and creative team.
