'5 things to know' is a weekly feature highlighting different parts of the WWOZ world that you may have missed this week, including unique WWOZ programming and video, plus New Orleans events, artists, places, features, and more. For the week ending June 17, 2016:

1) The 10th annual Cajun-Zydeco Festival is happening Saturday and Sunday, free at Armstrong Park. This year features a special tribute to the late zydeco king Boozoo Chavis featuring two of his grandsons leading their own bands and a performance from two of the grandsons of the famous Bois Sec Ardoin. Other performers include Roddie Romero & the Hub City Allstars, Sunpie & the Louisiana Sunspots, Nathan & the Zydeco Cha Chas, and more. See the full schedule.

2) A pop-up show to benefit the Eagle Saloon initiative is happening tonight at the Maple Leaf. An impressive collection of musicians and community leaders will be there showing their support, including Nicholas Payton, Christian Scott, DJ Soul Sister, Ivan Neville, Joe Dyson, Nesby Phips, PJ Morton, and Roland Guerin. Former WWOZ programming director Dwayne Breashears will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Find out more about the Eagle Saloon's historical significance in the video at the bottom of this page.

3) Perfect Gentlemen step out Uptown Sunday for the Father's Day second line parade! Get the route sheet from Takin' It To The Streets.

4) This week's new music spotlight shines on New Orleans electro-pop duo Alexis & the Samurai, a decidedly modern band that takes influence from a wide variety of sources.

5) The 'OZ featured video of the week comes from Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers and their performance of 'Hey Hey Hey' from their latest release, Calling Your Name, live at WWOZ. They'll be performing at the Cajun-Zydeco Fest on Saturday at 4:15p.
