This December is full of holiday music, events, and activities in and around New Orleans! 

MUSIC

One of New Orleans' best holiday traditions is the free concert series at St. Louis Cathedral and St. Augustine Church. Below, this year's schedule at St. Louis Cathedral. All concerts at the cathedral run 6-7p. 

Monday, December 2: Jason Marsalis
Wednesday, December 4: St. Peter Claver Gospel Choir
Thursday, December 5: Sweet Cecelia
Monday, December 9: A Preservation Halliday with the Preservation All-Stars
Wednesday, December 11: José Fermin Ceballos with Merengue 4
Thursday, December 12: Opera Creole
Sunday, December 15: Quiana Lynell
Wednesday, December 18: Zulu Gospel Choir
Thursday, December 19: Christmas Organ Spectacular ft. Loriae Llorca

And at St. Augustine this year, the annual holiday concert series will be held each Saturday in December, leading up to Christmas Day. The church invites guests to experience a small piece of what makes Treme such a special part of the city. The free hour-long shows begin at 4p, but guests are encouraged to head over early to experience and explore the food, activities, and culture that make up the historic neighborhood.

Saturday, December 21: Loose Cattle

Caroling at Jackson Square will be held on Sunday, December 22. The gates open around 6:30p and singing starts around 7p. 

BONFIRES ON THE LEVEES

Saturday, December 7: Algiers Levee. Local food vendors will be set up, plus there's live music performances by the All Saints Church Choir, the Landy-Walker Marching Band and DJ Rik Ducci.
Friday, December 13 - Sunday, December 15: Festival of the Bonfires in St. James Parish. This Cajun-style bonfire includes three days of live music, children’s activities, and contests.
Tuesday, December 24: Christmas Eve bonfires all along the Mississippi River as bonfires light the way for Papa Noel

PARADES

Saturday, December 7: Krewe of Jingle rolls at 1p
Saturday, December 7: Krewe of Krampus rolls at 7p
Saturday, December 14: Jingle on the Boulevard rolls at noon.
Twelfth Night (Monday, Jan. 6): Phunny Phorty Phellows, Krewe of Joan d'Arc, and the Société Des Champs Elysée
