Interview with photographer Freddy Hill

Published on: September 7th, 2019

This week on Takin' It To The Streets, Action Jackson sits down with documentary photographer Freddy Hill. Hill has been photographing New Orleans social and pleasure clubs and Mardi Gras Indians in New Orleans for more than 15 years. Her work captures all aspects of the clubs, from parades to community work to group shots. Within, she and Action discuss the importance of photograhing cultural bearers, what it's like to capture relationships within the groups on film, what she does to document the things that the people of New Orleans do to make this a great city, and much more.
