1) Pho Festival is happening in Harvey on Saturday and Sunday! It'll be happening at its new location at the Nawlins Market in Harvey, 10a-10p both days. This is a homey event-- while some restaurants take part in the festival, most of the food is prepared by families and local charitable, civic and religious groups, cooking together tailgate style. There will also be crafts and live music.

2) Get out your birthday suit-- the annual World Naked Bike Ride NOLA is on Saturday! Dress code is "bare as you dare." The group of 300+ cyclists will be led by local burlesque artist Trixie Minx in a pedicab. The ride is meant to bring awareness to bike safety and make drivers aware of the vulnerability of bikers that share our streets. More info, including route, at the link.

3) For 32 years, the Creole Tomato Festival has celebrated a unique Louisiana ingredient. Chefs love creole tomatoes for their versatility; everyone loves them for their taste. This year's Creole Tomato Festival happens Saturday and Sunday from 10a-5p in & around the French Market District. There's live music, cooking demonstrations, food booths, and a Bloody Mary market. Admission is free and open to the public.

4) June is Pride Month! New Orleans Pride Fest is happening Friday through Sunday with live entertainment, booths from LGBTQ organizations and businesses, food and drink, and a parade. More info on all of the events at neworleanspridefestival.com. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.

5) Downtown is hopping this weekend! Mr. Okra may be gone (RIP) but his birthday celebration lives on at BJ's on Friday night starting at 6p. Celebrate the life of Mr. Okra on his favorite day, his birthday! St. Roch Community Church will be hosting the 8th Annual Loving Festival on Saturday from 3-6p. This event celebrates the rich diversity of New Orleans families, and the legacy of Richard and Mildred Loving, the interracial couple whose 1967 landmark civil rights lawsuit, Loving v. Virginia, ended all race-based legal restrictions on marriage. And on Sunday, June 10 from 5-9p, Lost Bayou Ramblers, King James & the Special Men, and Sam Doores with Alynda Lee Segarra will be holding a benefit for Mash Potato Records and local arts magazine Iron Lattice at the Piety Street Ironworks.
