New Orleans members of the Jazz Journalists Association will honor Harold Battiste with the JJA's Jazz Hero Award on International Jazz Day at the Prime Example Night Club. A special performance by Jesse McBride and the Next Generation, Mr. Battiste's legacy band, will follow the presentation. Mr. Battiste will be in attendance, and a local city official will declare April 30 as Harold Battiste Day in New Orleans. Please join us in celebrating the contributions one of the most important artists in modern jazz history with a night of great music!
