Spread the word! The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation is seeking food vendors for the 2013 Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival in October:

We're expanding our food offerings at the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival, coming up Oct. 18-20, 2013, and we're looking to add to our roster of great vendors. Applications are now open for restaurants and caterers interested in being a food vendor at this unique celebration of Southern soul. The deadline to apply is Aug. 2.

A few more details from the Foundation's announcement:

  • We are looking for a combination of "traditional" Southern barbecue, nontraditional grilled and smoked foods, and other options including vegetarian and vegan dishes.
  • We are looking for vendors who can offer dishes that represent various states, cities or countries known for a distinct style of barbecue - such as Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Kansas City, Korea, Brazil, Jamaica and Louisiana, among others.
  • You don't have to be based in New Orleans, or even in Louisiana, to apply for a vending spot. And you don't have to be from the place you want to represent - you just have to be great at it.
  • The festival takes place from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, and from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, and Sunday, Oct. 20.
