On the Banks of the Minnissippi: the Little Big Easy

These two short videos are just for fun of it (Happy Monday!). They show (seemingly) miniaturized versions of New Orleans and the Mississippi River. The illusion is created by a special effects technique called tilt-shift photography (the details are kind of technical and involve manipulating focal planes). The effect is enhanced by speeding up the motion.

The producers of these videos have made similar ones in locales around the world, which you can check out on their YouTube channel.
