We all know that the Jazz Fest experience begins well before you enter the gate every day.

Morning Of rituals and the walking approach to the festival gates get the Fest Spirit fluttering blocks away from the Fair Grounds: music, beverages, porch parties, parades of fest shirts and availability of clap-enabling koozies (three cheers for a neck strap!) are all part of the daily rite of Fest Passage.

If you walk to The Fest from Esplanade along N. Lopez any morning of Weekend 2, you'll be serenaded by the The Wild Anacostias. This front porch band has been welcoming Weeked 2 Fest goers for several years running. Start time depending on the previous night's adventures, they aim to be up and at 'em by 9am.

What are your Jazz Fest morning traditions?
