As we present the best new jazz releases of 2012, this show is going to celebrate jazz divas.

Happily, our opening guests will be Ingrid Lucia and Margie Perez, two of the New Orleans Nightingales Revue.  Their CD is the brainchild of Ingrid Lucia and is a showcase of some of the best and brightest female singers New Orleans has to offer. Steeped in the musical traditions of early American jazz, the ladies of the New Orleans Nightingales bring new life to the 100-year-old art form through new compositions, vibrant live performances and a commitment to the idea that tradtional jazz music is still evolving.

If you want to hear them in person, they will be leaving our studio to join other Nightingales for a 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm show in the Lobby Atrium of The Ogden Museum of Southern Art's Stephen Goldring Hall.

Two other special guests later in the show will be Seguenon Kone and then Chuck Perkins --- also highlighting two other upcoming gigs.

Ivory Coast music ambassador Seguenon Koné’s presentation of Jazz AfroBeat Alive New Orleans! will be presented at the Mint at the foot of Esplanade from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22.   This collection of song, dance, and spectacular feats is a celebration of a unique cultural experience and musician unity.   Seguenon will be accompanied by his musical ensembles, Ivoire Spectacle and Ivoire Musique, with a special performance by Ensemble Fatien.

Chuck Perkins will share with us a fabulous and special charitable event on Friday, December 22nd starting at 6:00 p.m. at the House of Blues: "Home for the Holidays - a Concert for the Daniel Price Foundation for Aspiring Artists" PATRON PARTY concert which will feature NOCCA Jazz Band, Theresa Andersson, John Boutte, Rebirth, Kermit Ruffins, Amanda Shaw, Shamarr Allen, Paul Sanchez, Eric Lindell, Stanton Moore Trio, Trombone Shorty, Rockin' Dopsie and Chuck Perkins and more.

The Daniel Price Memorial Fund for Aspiring Artists was established to give exceptional fine arts graduates of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) an opportunity to pursue higher educational studies in a fine arts discipline. The scholarship will enable future generations of young, talented artists like Daniel Price to follow their artistic passion while obtaining a college degree.
