John Blanchar at Rock ‘n Bowl, has booked a couple of hot Zydeco acts for the weekend after the 4th – Geno Delafose and Amanda Shaw.

Delafose has been performing since he was a child, playing rub board in his father’s band, the Eunice Playboys.  He started his own group in the early 90s, playing accordion and opening for his father’s band. A consummate performer, Delafose is a regular at Rock ‘n Bowl and the crowds love him.  If you want to hear one of the leaders of a younger generation of Zydeco artists then get out and see Geno and his French Rockin’ Boogie Band.  A 2007 Grammy nominee, Delafose will get the place hopping early.  He is at Mid-City Rock ‘n Bowl Thursday, July 5.  A great way to start the weekend.

If that isn’t hot enough, the next night Amada Shaw will bring her Cute Guys to the Rock ‘n Bowl stage to set the place on fire.  Shaw has been touring the world since she was 8.  An accomplished fiddler, composer and arranger, she has brought some great energy to Zydeco – an energy that filters right into every dancer’s feet.  She counts her influences as Delta Blues, Zydeco, Jazz and Brass Band music.  You can hear it in her music.  She will be at Rock ‘n Bowl on Friday, July 6.

Two hot nights of Zydeco in New Orleans that you will not want to miss.
