Ah, JazzFest. It's unlike any other festival for some reason.... What is it with this city of New Orleans that it can have so much music that sound so, well, different?

New Orleans is musically the Galapagos Island of the US. Geographically and culturally, we developed separately and we came up with something unique.  Tonight, the Petri Dish of New Orleans' music.   Yeah, we'll treat your ears to the actual music recalled in all those tributes and name call-out you hear on the Jazz Fest stages.

And as always, interstitial sound clips between the songs to keep a couple story lines going at once plus we'll listen into Big Sam's set live from the Maison at about 12:30 am, sponsored by the Backbeat Jazzfest Series.  That same Big Sam you saw dragging Elvis Costello out to see Galactic on episode two of Treme.
