1. WWOZ will be live broadcasting from Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Festival next weekend. Among the acts we'll be airing:  Les Freres Michot, Lost Bayou Ramblers, and Corey Ledet & His Zydeco Band. Besides for music, the festival also features arts market, food vendors, folk life craft demonstrations, children's activities, and food. Admission is free.

2. New Orleans Tuba Skinny performs this Thursday 6/22 in WWOZ’s studio. You can check out the live video stream here or on our Facebook page. Tuba Skinny's music is inspired by early jazz and blues music of the twenties and thirties and with a full band consisting of tuba, trombone, cornet, tenor banjo/guitar, vocals, washboard, and sometimes clarinet -- it'll definitley be a great performance to catch in-studio. They’re set to play for 1pm.

3. Tipitina’s Foundation Free Fridays Summer Concert Series has kicked off! This Friday features Good Enough for Good Times & Funk Monkey. The free event is open to anyone 21+ up, and all proceeds go to protecting and preserving Louisiana’s musical culture. Doors at 9pm, show at 10pm.

4. The 2nd Annual Beignet Fest announced their music lineup and new location at City Park. Musical performances include Brass-a-Holics, Eric Lindell, One Love Brass Band, and more. A portion of the proceeds from the merchandise sales will go towards the mission of the festival – to raise awareness and funds for autism programs in New Orleans.

5. The Perfect Gentlemen Father’s Day Parade takes the streets this Sunday June 18th at 3pm. Check out the route here.
