It is the morning of the second full day of the IBC here in Memphis and what a ride. Wed night the International showcase was fantastic, a concert with all of the acts from outside of the US. 12 countries are represented from 5 continents. I was most impressed with the duo from Germany. Last night the first round of the semi-finals. In one night, 110 bands and 82 solo/duo acts performed in 21 venues on, and off Beale Street. Tonight they will do it again. From these performances the finalist will be chosen to compete on Saturday. _ But first, today beginning at 1:00 is the Youth Showcase. 32 "under 21" acts will perform in the Beale Street clubs. Some are IBC competitors and some are invited quests. In addition several record labels and artist management groups have show with their artist today as well. Late tonight after the competitions the "Jams" begin and the finalist are announced. Tomorrow morning the "Keeping The Blues Alive" awards are presented. New Orleans own Spencer Bohren receives a KBA for education. Wish you were here..... more later. May All Your Be Be On The Radio
