Tonight on the Kitchen Sink, it's the beginning of birthday month. Tonight in the first hour we'll celebrate the birthdays of Art Neville aka Poppa Funk and Henry Roland Byrd aka Professor Longhair. Then in the second hour, nothing but the Piano Prince, the Bayou Maharajah, the Black Chopin, the Black Liberace, Mr. Gonzo himself, Lil Booker - JAMES BOOKER!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I'm excited?

This last piece from Booker is hauntingly like Sun Ra and a slowed down version Colin Nancarrow. Or maybe it is just the classic Booker sound and I missed it because I didn't live here when Booker was making his magic.

How could such a piece of music go unreleased?

Can't wait till Wednesday night!
I mean Thursday morning!!!
