Crowd at Lousiana Music FactoryEach day in between Jazz Fest, the Louisiana Music Factory in the French Quarter has live performances all day long. Guests include legends like Henry Gray, Leo Nocentelli, and Kermit Ruffins. I happened to squeeze in onTuesday just in time to catch one of the best regular live acts in town, a supergroup consisting of Joe Krown on organ, Walter "Wolfman" Washington on guitar and vocals, and the powerhouse drummer Russell Batiste.

Although I'd seen them plenty of times at local venues like the Maple Leaf, the combination of my favorite local shopping experience plus one of my favorite bands was impossible to beat. Every aisle of the store was jam-packed, and I managed to wiggle my way into the middle, just opposite the stage.

Wolfman was playing his guitar with his teeth! I whipped out my little camera like a gunslinger and managed to grab a shot, though I wish I'd been closer or equipped with a paparazzi lens.

Needless to say, the place emptied out a bit after the concert. And perhaps just as predictably, I noticed I had an armful of books and CDs as I made my way to the cash register near the front door.
