1) It's Halloweenweekend and there are costuming and music options a-plenty! Voodoo Music + Arts Experience starts on Friday and runs through Sunday in City Park. Jim Monaghan’s 21st Annual Halloween Parade will roll Monday at 7p, leaving from Molly's. Founded in 1995, this walking parade strolls through the French Quarter with an official midway stop at Erin Rose. Blackpot Festival returns to Vermillionville this weekend, happening Friday and Saturday.

2) It's the final day of our Fall Pledge Drive and it's been a banner drive! We had a record amount of live music in our studio for this drive-- more than 40 bands came through our doors and into your ears in the last 11 days. Check out the highlights on our Facebook video page for performances from Wendell Brunious, Hurray for the Riff Raff, New Breed Brass Band, Vasti Jackson, Panorama Jazz Band, Brother Tyrone, Aurora Nealand, Haruka Kikuchi, Khris Royal & Dark Matter, David Torkanowsky, and so many more amazing artists who were in showing their support for WWOZ.

3) It's the final Jazz in the Park of the season on November 3. Shannon Powell and Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers will be performing for free, 4-8p at Armstrong Park.

4) We'll be broadcasting and video streaming live from Helen Gillet +1 at Three Keys Ace Hotel New Orleans on Wednesday, November 2 starting at 9p. Helen Gillet is an experimental cello dreamweaver from Belgium and rooted in New Orleans here to serenade you into the night. Her ethereal vocals dance boldly among classical, jazz and contemporary familiarities to make for unheard territory.

5) The video of the week is a mishmash of New Orleans musicians imploring you to join WWOZ on the last day of our pledge drive! Listen to the good people and do the right thing. Become a WWOZ member here.
