WWOZ is saddened to share the news of Elliott "Stackman" Callier's passing. He was a gifted saxophonist and a vibrant part of the New Orleans music community.

Throughout his musical career, he performed with and alongside some of New Orleans’ most respected musicians and traditional music organizations, including Johnny Adams, Tuba Fats’ Chosen Few, the Treme Brass Band, the Olympia Brass Band, Fats Domino’s Band, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

Funeral services will be held at Charbonnet Labat-Glapion Funeral Home (1615 St. Phillip St.) on Friday, September 25. Viewing begins at 9am, followed by services at 10am.
