Deezle, born Darius Harrison, is a Grammy-winning New Orleans-based songwriter, producer, engineer, and artist whose work can be found on over 75 million records sold worldwide. He has produced music for a slew of household names, including Birdman, Destiny’s Child, and Chris Brown, but is perhaps best known for his work with Drake (“In My Feelings”) and with Lil Wayne, with whom he won two Grammys in 2009 (Best Rap Song for “Lollipop” and Best Rap Album for Tha Carter III, which he produced). He also worked behind the board with Wayne on hits like “Let the Beat Build,” co-produced with Kanye West. Although not related, the younger Harrison has been mentored by and often performs with NEA Jazz Master and musical legend Big Chief Donald Harrison Jr., and the two have collaborated on film scores, including Jonathan Demme’s Rachel Getting Married and Right to Return.
