Doreen Ketchens is a world-renowned clarinetist from New Orleans, Louisiana.

Along with her band, Doreen’s Jazz New Orleans, she has performed in Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe, South America, Russia, and throughout the United States.

The band has 21 volumes of CDs and 3 DVDs showcasing their incredible body of work, available for purchase directly from the band.

Doreen and her band-mate/husband Lawrence Ketchens are heavily involved in music education. Their "music in the schools" workshops aim to educate through audience participation. They demonstrate Jazz Funerals and Mardi Gras Indian chants.

They also trace the origins of the traditional music from camp meetings and spirituals, through the French, Latin, and Caribbean influences, to the traditional and street jazz most commonly heard in New Orleans today.

Since the creation of their workshop, they’ve performed in schools around the world, bringing New Orleans music to a whole new generation of fans.

You can find Doreen’s Jazz New Orleans playing on the streets of the French Quarter Thursdays through Sundays, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on Royal Street at the corner of St. Louis.
